Fjordcity
2017

Where does the fjord end and the city begin? How does the city and the fjord influence the public spaces in Oslo. The Fjord City Park is defined by the intersection between A and B, land and water, city and fjord.

An 8 meter by 8 meters gridded forest struc- tures the undulated surface of the Fjord City Park. The undulations of the surface are dictated by enhancing views of the fjord, while connecting the city horizontally. The construct- ed topography defines the public spaces of the park. The Oslo S plaza is notched into the side of the topography as to maintain the long view of the Fjord, while the amphitheater literally puts the Fjord on a metaphorical stage. The intersection of the city and fjord defines the public space on the fjord city.
