Forest Objects
2020

The research project and tutorial aims to draw the forest - both specific objects, trees and rocks, but also spaces - using photogrammetry applications.

The outcome is an integrated 3d model showing topological and formal features of the forest.

1. Exploring a new tool (metashape), technique (photogrammetry) and worfklow for onsite investigation. Resulting in your own asset library and formal understanding of the site.

2. Direct experience of the ground, develope a nuanced understanding of the forest floor (species, colour, topography).

3. Harvesting of environments can be implemented into workflows to represent living matter in landscape architecture. Landscape representation through the use of pointcloud, mesh rendering programs. (students can explore this on there own terms and interest levels).

light tracks the movement around tree 1. While walking around the tree, video is being recorded.
